Triumphant Birth
by GrowingFlowers
I love triumphant birth. Hard work, sweat, tears, some sewing, black tea AND coffee. Letting go and still feeling very, very attached to outcome. (This at the same exact time.) Can you imagine that? Somehow it works – sometimes. Doctors, nurses and midwives all in flow together, because it works so well when that can happen and when it is so necessary. Oh – the joy of birth, the fun and the pain and the TRIUMPH.
Freezing, cold drive home under crystal clear skies. Hot shower at 5 am and then with wildly chattering teeth into bed to be warmed. I thought I would never, ever fall asleep. Gosh my mind was reeling and then I woke up – the sun bright, the sheets warmed, sweaty and the dogs barking. Another day in Taos, another Birth in Taos. Coffee in bed, waffles too.

what a story! a strong and brave mother, incredibly supportive father … apprentices, CPMs, CNMs, techs and an OB working together for a positive, safe, miraculous birth. A joyous triumph for our community!!
we just missed you!
