Movie Pancakes

perfection

Always when I feel a tad bit overwhelmed or, actually, a LOT overwhelmed – I get what I need. Days at home with no plans. Two in a row is perfect.  They motivate me, inspire me, feed me deeply. It’s what I really, really need to tank up again and get ready for this crazy lifestyle I have.

It began with pancakes made by Kaya in her striped jammies. These were, seriously, the best I have ever had. And specially designed of course. Maple syrup. The “blood of trees,” as Kaya calls it. Perfectly bubbled, browned. Crispy and soft. Lots of them. And enough to freeze for toaster pancakes.

No babies today. No calls and no contractions. (That I’ve been told about….) A wee tiny little stubborn one yesterday.

Reading! I began a new book today. It’s called The Doctor. It will probably be the first book finished in the New Year. So I read, both fiction and non-fiction. I made a soup to simmer in the crock-pot. For some reason, making a soup gives me a serious feeling of success. Always. Like I really accomplished something.

A sweet morning with Falko before he zoomed up the Mountain. Treska is up there too. She is a ski instructor to the little ones. She zooms around the mountain with tiny tripods floating after her.

A roaring fire all day long. It’s brutal today. Cold, gray, snowing in the mountain. No sun down here – highly unusual. So heat and a fire today.  And the house is quiet. The girls went to dinner and a movie together. It’s bizarre and absolutely luxurious. So I will read some more. Drink a full mason jar of fruit tea. Steaming.

Keep reading. Keep resting.
